| Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and raised in many states across the US, Michael finally settled in California in the late 60's and early 70's. At an early age he was exposed to many different types of music, from the early Rock and Roll and Motown in Detroit, to Country Western music and the Grand Old Opera while living in Louisville, KY, the Folk Rock/Acid Rock of that era in California, and the jazz/big band that his parents jitterbugged to.
While working and going to school, Michael worked with whoever he could, playing bass, guitar, doing vocals, or anything else to get a job. During one week in the mid-70's he played in a friend's rock cover band, did another a favor and filled in on bass at an audition to get a gig at the Watt's Festival, and did a one man act at The Troubadour to showcase his own material.
Though always keeping a hand in the music community, over the years Michael has been a driver, warehouse man, sheet metal mechanic, industrial painter, aerospace inspector, aircraft assembler, and a pharmacy technician, helping to raise his four children. He has lead The Bluescasters, Counter Point (a contemporary jazz group), and written a large number of songs over his many years in the business.
Making the transition from part-time player to a full-time involvement in entertainment, Brond Entertainment is the brain child of Michael. With it, he hopes to, "fill the void that we think exists because there are too many record companies who pigeon-hole their artists." Consisting of Brond Records and Brondman Music Publication Co. (ASCAP), Brond Entertainment helps those who have fallen through the cracks of the record industry, building and developing the skills of struggling singers, songwriters, and musicians who want to collectively develop culture through their music. |
